The UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture is hosting a book launch of Patrick Mooney's recently publish book on Planting Design. After the 5:00pm reception Patrick will give a 40 minute talk and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
Noted Landscape Architect Andrea Cochran, who contributed to the book wrote
"Planting Design begins with a comprehensive overview of the scientific theories which explain why people have such strong emotional responses tonature. Dr. Mooney then distills this research into practical design principles that help us understand how our aesthetic preferences are formed through spatial structure, pattern, color and light. This book validated many of the intuitive decisions I made over years of practice—it will be an interesting read as well as a source of inspiration for both the novice garden designerand the seasoned landscape architect.”
