We are looking to add a confident and energetic landscape and playground designer to our team of designers and craftspeople. As Western Canada’s premier natural playground innovators we work closely with public and private clients alike to design and construct play environments that grow skill and confidence by re-engaging children in the act of risk-taking.
As a new member of our team you’ll bring real design horsepower and a fresh energy to an exciting and collaborative office and workshop environment. Your portfolio will show your experience as an innovator and leader in the design and development of destination children’s playgrounds. You’ll have a strong front-end presence in client development, including presenting in front of municipal boards or community meetings, where your conceptual design work may be the feature graphical work. Your knowledge of construction materials and methods will be evident in your ability to create meaningful and reliable cost estimates. You’ll steward our projects through the design phase, which includes collaboration with other designers and carpenters, into the creation of a 3D model and shop drawings.
We think the ideal candidate will have a BLA or MLA, be CPSI certified, have 5+ years of design experience with client-facing responsibility, and a strong portfolio showing sketching, modeling, and drawing capabilities, but these are not prescriptive hurdles to clear; if you think you are the right candidate, please put yourself forward.
