The Laneway Project in Kelowna has come a long way since green plastic balls and fishing line back in 2014!
On August 31, we officially LaUNCHED the Laneway with a soft opening of the space. With food provided from local restaurants, free popsicles, and a local jazz quartet the space was abuzz with music, laughter and great conversation. Many of our allied professionals showed up, included a good contingent from the City of Kelowna. Numerous locals discovered the space for the first time as did many out of towners on this fading end of summer. Even the smoky Okanagan sky cooperated and we had a blue ceiling overhead. The rear of the space will be occupied this fall by an Earl’s sea-can serving tacos and libations, and the Kelowna Art Gallery will be working with local artists to hang imagery on the walls. Next time you are in town be sure to check it out! Now for the next one!
Thanks to the BCLSA and all our friends for the time and energy invested over the last few years in creating this playful little space.
