UBC SALA Garden Design Lecture: Estudio Ome UBC SALA Nov 22, 2024 : 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Join us for the annual UBC SALA Garden Design Lecture on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. sharp at UBC Robson Square in downtown Vancouver.

The award-winning Estudio Ome, based in Mexico City, was founded by a French-Mexican duo, Hortense Blanchard and Susana Rojas Saviñón, who are constantly questioning how we interact with nature and where to intervene to get the perfect balance in between what is built and what is alive. Through extensive research and inspiration from botany, archaeology, infrastructure, agroecology and art, Estudio Ome endeavours to represent the complexity and richness of natural environments and the profound respect they have towards them by bringing them closer. The studio engages in landscape projects at all scales, through practice and theory, that respond to both people and the natural world.

This lecture is free and all are welcome. No tickets are required.

Thank you to our sponsors: British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects, Alka Pool Construction Ltd., SLS Light Resource, and Golden Spruce Nurseries.
