Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced MLA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in British Columbia on landscape design and project management for multi-family, residential, commercial, and community development projects, with an understanding of Indigenous-led initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop detailed landscape plans for multi-family, residential, commercial, and community development projects, with a focus on Indigenous-led initiatives.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Engage meaningfully with Indigenous communities to incorporate cultural values and environmental priorities into project designs.
- Prepare conceptual designs, construction documentation, and specifications.
- Conduct site analysis and integrate environmental considerations into designs.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality results.
- Oversee construction and provide on-site support to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in British Columbia.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential for this role.
- Experience with additional design software (e.g., SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) is an asset.
- Active membership in good standing with the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects (BCSLA), including possession of a professional seal, is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of plant materials and sustainable design practices.
- Experience in community engagement and collaboration with Indigenous communities is an asset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
