We have an exciting opportunity for a Parks Planner in Parks and Public Spaces!
The successful applicant will be responsible for the strategic and schematic planning and design of City parks, urban spaces and public art projects. The position will oversee the selection of consultants, manage resources, overseeing project communications, strategic planning, preliminary design, detailed design, scheduling, and budgeting, and monitor projects through tender preparation for City of Kelowna parks and public spaces, as well as lead projects such as City beautification and monumentation. Projects will include strategic plans, concept plans and design for new construction, renewal, alteration, rehabilitation, or improvements to parks and urban realm, monumentation, beautification and public art. This position will take professional for projects and budgets. Utilize your related design experience to help enhance Kelowna’s beautiful landscapes and infrastructure.

Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Eligibility for Professional Registered Landscape Architect or alternate equivalent professional designation (e.g., Engineer / Architect registered or eligible for immediate registration in BC with comparable landscape architecture experience.)
- A minimum of 3 years of landscape architecture experience, including strategic planning and budgeting, design development, project management, tendering, construction, and contract administration in the municipal environment
- Experience with coordination of consultants and contractors
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively lead a team and work collaboratively
- Project management & attention to detail
- Digital illustration, artificial intelligence software regarding illustration, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and CAD skills are an asset.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
