Landscape Design Intern Position:
MDI Landscape Architects Inc. is seeking a summer intern from June to the end of August 2025 with the potential for full time employment in the fall. This would be an ideal job for a recent graduate. We are looking for a creative designer who wants to work on a variety of projects to gain on-the-job experience. The position will involve a broad range of duties including helping our team with active projects, hands on design work, construction drawing, and on the ground field review experience. It would be a great opportunity for someone interested in Nature-based Solutions and integrated design.
Who We Are:
MDI specializes in integrated planning and design and Nature Based Solutions. Our projects include mixed used residential development, schools and institutions, parks, streetscape design, and waterfront planning and design. Our office is based in Victoria and is conveniently located on the Galloping Goose Trail.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Depending on your skills, your work could include:
- Collaborating with a lead designers to create comprehensive design documents, permit applications and contract/construction documents
- Develop construction drawings including:
- Grading and drainage plans
- Stormwater management plans
- Planting design and plans, and
- Construction Details
- Learn about the municipal application process
- Lidar data analysis and map making
- 3D Rendering and Design
- Operation of Drone
Skills:
- Proficient in CAD Drafting (Vectorworks preferred)
- Rhino, Photoshop, GIS/Global Mapper, etc are and asset
- Ability to work in a collaborative work environment
- Excellent file management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
