Learn the Basics of Urban Planning One-Day Live Online Class Eric Aderneck, RPP, MPL, BCOM, DULE Apr 11, 2025 : 9:30 am to 2:45 pm

In this class you will learn what urban planning is, why we plan, types of plans, define land uses and calculate densities, and how plans are prepared and implemented. Additionally, the roles of planners, other professionals, stakeholders, and decision-makers in planning and development processes.

We'll explain planning concepts, principles, terms, and current issues, and how municipal plans and policies interconnectedly influence real estate development, transportation systems, and other urban matters. We will consider planning at different scales, at the site, neighbourhood, city, and regional levels, and review the application of land use tools, such as: plans, policies, bylaws, subdivisions, and other approvals.

This condensed class is perfect for land related professionals who want to learn more about urban planning concepts and how they relate to city building and land development.
