RECOVERING THE WATER FROM OUR ROOFS: Discover Rainwater Management Solutions

Urbanization and climate change have an impact on stormwater management. Indeed, in urban areas, impermeable surfaces—such as roads, parking lots and buildings—prevent rainwater from infiltrating into the ground, which can lead to flooding and pollution of surface water. Moreover, climate change aggravates these problems by increasing the intensity and frequency of rainfall, which puts more pressure on stormwater management systems.

Municipalities must therefore be able to handle these weather events by integrating stormwater management practices into urban development projects, while at the same time adapting existing structures.

Capable of accommodating different stormwater management solutions, roofs are a key element to consider in order to comply with the regulations put in place by municipalities, in addition to meeting the requirements of sustainable construction.
